Trainspotting

Trainspotting is directed by Danny Boyle who also directed Slumdog Millionaire. This film was released on 23 february 1996. The are many genres of this film but the main ones are crime and drama.This film is basically about a man called Renton who is deeply involved with drugs, but then he tries to clean up and get out despite the allure of the drug and influence of friends. The main character in this film is Renton who is played by Ewan McGregor, Ewan McGregor also stars in Black Hawk down & Star Wars.

The scene i am looking at is the first scene of the film. The film off with Renton comeing out of a fire exit door. Renton then climbs up a wall and starts walking along it and then jumps off of it, and lands in the middle of the room and starts talking to a man, who we assume is his room mate, Rentons room mate and dealer takes Rentons coat of and Renton gives him his money.Renton then takes his belt off, whilst his doing that his room mate Spud is getting his needles sorted of him. Renton room takes the money and walks over to a table which has got niddels and loads of drugs on, he then puts the money Renton gave him and checks its real by putting in under something. Renton then decides to put his belt round his arm, and pulls it tight.
His room mate/drug dealer, comes over with a bit of tissue and a needles. Renton puts the needle into his arm and injects the drugs. You can see all the drugs and the blood flowing around the syringe, Renton pushes the drugs into his body and starts to go all weird he falls though a whole in the carpet. There is a cut where the screen goes black and changes location to outside on a road and a ambulance drives past. We think this is for Renton but then we the camera goes into Renton house and someone is pulling him downstairs to outside. We then see the same road and the same Ambulance, but the ambulance drives past, and the man that helped Renton put him into a cab and puts money in Renton pocket.
The cab turns up at the accident and emergancy room. The cab driver takes the money out of his pocket and leaves Renton laying on the floor. It then shows you Rentons point of view and his looking at the Energancy & accident sign. It then shows Renton looking at a medical man that helps him. Then you see Renton laying on a hospital bed and getting pulled to a room. It then changes to Renton point of view again and Rentons looking at all the people who are in the A&E room. When Renton gets to the room, he gets put onto a bed and two nurses are trying to wake him up, they under his top and pull his sleeves up. One of the nurses puts something round his arm and pulls it tight. She then smacks his arm were he enjected the needle. She then enjects a liquid into his arm. Renton sits up and takes really deep breathes, he looks like his garsping for air. At the end of this scene he gets picked up by his mum and dad, his mum hands a cigarette to his dad and hands on to him but he dont take it so she smokes it herself.
